Ear Training Day 2

So here are the results for my second day of ear training. Right now I’m practicing melodic intervals. It’s when two notes are played one after the other and I have to guess how many notes apart they are. My goal is to hit 90% accuracy before moving on to focus on Harmonic interval. Guessing the distance between two simultaneous notes.

Yesterday’s High score was 65%. Today’s High Score was 74%

Here’s my score from when I first woke up, I noticed I was still rough on the sixths so I did some training on that. The final picture is my final score of 74%. After doing the training on sixths I began mistaking fifths for minor sixths and octaves for major sixths >.> Oh well hopefully after some rest my ears will be able to tell the difference again.

ATTENTION: Last chance to Download Music Today!

Ath the end of the day today!, I’m clearing my bandcamp page of ALL music except Farewell and Yesterday’s Tomorrow Original Soundtrack. It’s not that I think the music is horrible, but I feel like the music from the past doesn’t reflect the focus and unity of vision I have now. Not to mention with 11 projects from 3 years of work featured on the homepage it’s starting to look cluttered and if it annoys me to look at I know it probably annoys you too. So, download your favorites now before I take them down on the day after valentine’s day. 90% of the music is “Name Your Price” with no minimum meaning zero (aka free) is a valid option or you can donate a spare change, either is greatly appreciated :).  Here’s a medley of a couple classics that have gotten well stats over the years.

Crown Chakra, the most popular song from the most popular album (1000+ plays all time)

Emerald Sunshine, The one that started it all! It’s the first song from the first instrumental album I ever released

Dragon’s Fiery War Cadence, One of favs from my  4 sketchbook. A must Download!

How I became Who I am Today

As I was growing up I never truly knew what I wanted to be. In a way I still don’t. In Elementary, I wanted write stories. Novels and the such, but I soon realized I didn’t have the patience to keep a story going past the first chapter or two, although I had finished an outline of the entire plot. In middle school and early high school, I was super interested in linguistics. I would study the history of language and structure of languages, even created my own language, “Tichoshian”, but never became fluent in a language (yet.) Then, Late in High school, I began falling in love with music, math and science. Going to science fairs and math Olympics while recording mixtapes with friends. Even my standardized test left me confused. I’d get near advanced in all areas with English being the only outlier. So when I graduated from high-school I was going to get a degree in English and do Englishy stuff with it (or so I thought). Then reality set in, no scholarships or money I wasn’t going to a university. So, community college with financial aid was the choice for me. When I had started college I had only been 18 for a month. I was young and dumb. I felt empty and really didn’t know what I wanted in in life. I became nihilistic. Wasting my time going down to the local university where my best friend at the time attended and just partied my life away after classes. I never did my home work. After that my financial aid was rightfully cut off and I was stuck with nothing. Nothing, but a burning fire to do something great. In all that time I didn’t stop creating though. I continued to compose and record music and write poetry. Eventually I created a WordPress blog (Not this one the first one was called the evolution of eloquence and I posted mostly poems on it) and I’ve been blogging and creating music ever since. Now with an upcoming book, tons of released music with some on iTunes I can truly say I’m proud of how I’ve grown up. I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m eager to see where the rest of my journey takes me.

AudioSeXXX Update

So for the past week, in between, I’ve been brainstorming ideas on how to reformat the site and it’s content to more in tune with my expanding interests. I’m thinking more featured artist, not only musical, but visual. I’m thinking more science, math and philosophy based posts. Also I’ve taken to flash animation so any animators that want to be featured now’s the time for links in the description. Before I leave Ohio for NY I’m going to schedule mass amounts of timed posts because I wont have wi-fi at the place that I will be staying. So an ARTIST, MUSICIANS, ANIMATORS if you want a feature spot in an upcoming post. Leave a link in the comments for me to check out.

Important Life Update: Dayton is Dying; Moving to NY

So apparently my Target store is closing in May. The Target  in Trotwood (a city part of greater Dayton area) that I worked at for 2 years is closes and I am so :(. So what now? Target gives me the option of transferring to another target nearby but after a long and hard decision I decided to move to Buffalo, New York. Sadly this will tear me away from my music group “Radikal Nation” for a while :/ My decision was made based on the fact that Dayton is dying. Within the last year alone 4 other stores, K-mart, Cub Foods, Best Buy, and Sears (which closes tomorrow btw)  will have closed, Not to mention the AppleBees and Walmart that perished a year or two before that. So, although I love all my friends, family and co-workers to death, I need to move to a place where I can advance my career without the threat of the venue I’m working with being shut down. My heart is broken. I may not love my city anymore, but I will never stop loving all the people and memories I have made.
