EARGASM – Lifeblood (Audio SeXXX 3rd Year Anniversary)

Remember the guy to the left of me in the “Dabbing for my City” post a couple weeks ago? Probably not, but either way his name is Cedric and he is in a band called “In Night & Nature” and they’ve recently released a single called “Lifeblood” and it’s amazing! If you’re into rock, You need to check it out.

Also did I forget to mention but today is also Audio SeXXX’s 3rd Anniversary. Thanks everyone for 3 great years.

My friend Cedric isn’t the only one who dropped a single. I drop the single to my project “Genesis”, yesterday. You should totally listen to it and if you love it. It’s purchasable for a mere dollar. Enjoy! Thanks for listening.

NEW MUSIC – Genesis

Today’s the day! The first single “Genesis” from 5 track album “Escapism”. Genesis depicts the story of how I created music in 8 days; an allusion to how God created the world in the book of genesis in the bible. Listen below in the embed and if you like it consider downloading it for $1. I created the lyrics, instrumental, art. I even mixed the song myself. This is more than music, it’s a creative project. If this is the type of music you want more of please support it. I’m a one man team, working an $8 per hour, part time job trying to juggle my passion for creativity.Every play is crucial and every penny counts. I thank those faithful who have supported me over the years. If you happen to not have 4 quarters laying around, at least share it with a friend and convince them to share with a friend. Good music also needs good fans. I hope you enjoy this aural story that I have penned for you. Thanks for being a part of my creative process. Without further delay Genesis….

(Rap Genius Lyrics Found Here; Normal Lyrics Below)

[Verse 1]
Day One, I invent paper,
Then look around I found myself on a college ruled acre
Looking east, I go there and prepare
To get sustenance from vegetables shout out to nature.
Day Two, I invent pencils,
Then trace my brain, outlined on the page with a stencil.
Puffing lentil between dentals before Popeye;
Laser focused on nowhere with my blind hawk eyes.
Day Three, I invent Rhythm. I’m that guy.
The whole ecosystem bobbing head with him.
Visions of the future seems my creator hid them.
“Seconds. Where y’all going?” I’m starting to miss them,
Day Four, I invent poetry.
Before Yiruma, I found the flow in me.
Other animal ridicule; jokingly,
Then I destroy the close minded, openly

[Hook]
One Day I’m made from the clay of Cassius,
Then reborn from the burnt bridges ashes.
This is the revelation of my genesis.
This is the revelation of my genesis.

One Day I’m made from the clay of Cassius,
Then reborn from the burnt bridges ashes.
This is the revelation of my genesis.
This is the revelation of my genesis.

Day Five, I invent melody.
To give my words time to play with some company.
Add a little counterpoint and a couple timpani.
Then accidentally smoke a whole forest. Hickory.
Day Six, I invent Hip hop.
From there, I figured that I would never stop.
Now I don’t know who it was who invented pop or country.
It’s not me so hold the phone.
Day Seven, I invent the microphone.
Hmmm. I wonder.
That was me thinking I should invent the first song
And that song is what’s been playing all along.
Day Eight, I invent humans.
To give a way this soul food that they’re consuming
After putting my elaborate plan to movement,
I fade away to nirvana with my favorite Buddhist.

[Verse 3]
Invented paper to savor this emotion.
Wrote this genesis of rhetoric, unlike electric can’t resist.
This sets the precedence for the rest of this dissonance.
I’ll speak this stream of consciousness even without an audience.
Heart of a lion cloaked in a brown human pelt.
Mind your business. Enjoy your ride on conveyor belts.
What do you when everyone wants to escape?
While I’m on a mission to go find myself and relate.
Sleep is for the dead, I’ll live forever so I’m restless.
Me, myself and I the only one on this guest list.
Party of one. Celebrating our essence.
Not a graven image that we paint for the masses.
Can’t accept your bills your social currency is counterfeit.
Died ten times. I’m out of lives now that I think of it.
The conclusion, I’ve included is a great revelation
Every ending’s followed by the light of a genesis.

For your Patience…

Here’s a preview of the track art for the song “A More”. A song about a man’s close amor, wanting “a more”.

Please Support My Content

I’ve been making music for 6 years and running this blog for 4 years. I appreciate all the support I’ve gotten over the years. That support and my love of creativity is what keeps me going, but I must keep it real with you. I don’t get payed for any of my content and haven’t for about upwards of 8 months. Now, money isn’t the main goal, but I need to survive. It’s affecting my life, relationship and well-being so this is why I am writing this. My loved ones are worried I’ve been investing all my time and money ($1,000+ over the 6 years)  into this dream without any returns and think I should rethink my life choice. I disagree and I hope you do too. If you’re convinced please support financially or, at the very least share the content with people (Which I posted at the bottom of the post) . The hardest part hasn’t been making content, but getting people to see the hard work. I am a one man team, humbly asking for your assistance. If you’re not convinced the stay tuned because I’m about to do a brief breakdown of my investment into my dream over the half decade.

  • A $400 Desktop computer to upgrade from laptop because it had horrible RAM (2gb) and no storage space (200 gb).
  • A condenser microphone, stand, interface and cables (Approx. $300)
  • A drawing tablet ($100) So I could work in Photoshop to create my own album covers and now animations.
  • Instruments ($300) – This includes my acoustic guitar, keyboard, and MIDI keyboard.
  • Reason 8.3 ($400) when I first started out I have a pirated version of Reason 5 and after a couple year of that for studying I decided to invest in craft and upgrade to the recent version,
  • Multiple Cameras ($300) due to some breaking over the years from use or accidents.

That alone is $1900 investment over the last 6 years and I’ve only made maybe a tenth of that back.

List of My Content

On this blog. I post original content such as How to Overcome Writer’s Block  or the Death of the Facebook Like Page. I even post poetry such as Man in the Mirror. Speaking Man in the Mirror did you know I made a music video for that song. (embedded below the paragraph). While we’re on the topic of poetry I’ve also published a book  of poetry earlier this year titled Yesterday’s Tomorrow.  I even made an accompanying Soundtrack for my book.

On my YouTube channel I post a music semi-daily and have been working on a daily music making challenge where I try to make a short 1 to 2 minute theme every day or two. I also occasionally post music theory/mixing tutorials (embedded below this paragraph

I’m thankful for anyone who has read this in its entirety and I hope you continue to follow me on my creative journey. Thanks for the past support. Let’s make something great.

Bonus! Here’s a short compilation of clips from my animation practice

NEW MUSIC VIDEO – Man in the Mirror

Today is day 48 of my music making challenge and I decided to do something different. Instead of just a short music composition I decided to add lyrics and do a full scale music video all done since I woke up this morning. It’s based on my poem I posted earlier today of the same name. Enjoy!

Ideal Music: Melody

For an artist to understand his craft he has to have a vision or ideal of what he thinks music should sounds like. I’ve been thinking over this for the last week so I decided to write a couple of blog post describing what my ideal music should sound like.

I’ll start with melody which is the most important element of music. (at least in my ears) When people hear songs they usually hum back the melody. For me a melody line has to have these features.

  • Unique yet memorable: Melodies should be unique, yet memorable. Have you ever heard a song that you loved the melody yet couldn’t remember the song 2 minutes after listening. That’s a unique melody with out memorable parts.
  • Flowing Movement: Melodies should move, but in a flowing way with very few note leaps (unless to set a specific mood),
  • Transformation: Melodies should move and transform into other melodies to keep the song from getting stale yet have a related stem that bring them all. Classical music usually takes transformation to its extreme making it difficult for average people to follow, but Pop & Hip hop music tends to lack this feature repeating a phrase multiple times with little or no variation. Ideally there should be a balance between movement and stable parts.

There we go my ideals on melody. I’ll probably revisit this late, but for now next time I’ll be writing my ideals on Harmony & Accompaniment.

Don’t forget to check out my playlist for my “Daily Music Making Challenge” Where make a short 1 or 2 minute instrumental a day
